    How this calculator works

The calculator projects your portfolio year by year. Each year your contributions buy additional shares at the average price, the share price grows by your expected rate, and the dividend per share grows by your expected dividend growth rate. When DRIP is on, net dividends buy more shares at the end-of-year price — so future dividends are paid on a larger share count.

After-tax results apply your country's headline dividend tax rate. This is a planning estimate, not personalised tax advice. Allowances, account wrappers (ISA, PEA, ISK, exemptions) and treaty withholding can change your real net figure.

All compounding here comes from share-price growth, dividend growth and reinvested dividends. There is no fixed return assumption.

    Dividend tax rates by country

Headline dividend tax rates used by the calculator. Where no official headline rate is published we use a regional average, marked as an estimate. These are planning figures, not personalised tax advice.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is yield-on-cost?+

Yield-on-cost is annual dividend income divided by what you originally paid. As dividends grow, yield-on-cost rises even if the current market yield stays flat.

Does DRIP really make a difference?+

Yes. Reinvesting dividends compounds your share count, so next year's dividend is paid on more shares. Over 20–30 years it can substantially raise the final income.

    Why does the country matter?+

Each country taxes dividends differently — from 0% in several jurisdictions to over 40% in some EU brackets. The after-tax number is what actually lands in your account.

What if my country is not listed?+

Pick "Custom rate" and enter your own dividend tax percentage. The rest of the projection works the same way.

    Is the result guaranteed?+

No. The calculator uses your inputs as assumptions. Real share prices and dividends move with the market.

Does PieFolio AI track this automatically?+

Add your holdings in the app. Dividends and yield on cost then update automatically.

What about ISA, PEA or other tax wrappers?+

Tax wrappers can make dividends tax-free or deferred. Pick "Custom rate" and set it to 0% to model that scenario.
